Gunmen suspected to be members of Indeginous People of Biafra (IPOB) have vowed to kill more lawmakers in Anambra State after killing the member representing Aguata II Constituency in the state house of assembly, Okechukwu Okoye, and his aide, Cyril Chiegboka.

The proscribed group issued the threat in a note allegedly found where the head of the lawmaker was dumped.

A source who saw the note said, “The letter is not too clear due to raindrops, but it started with the word ‘warning’.

“At some point, it reads ‘everywhere you go, you cannot hide anywhere. We will go after you one by one because soldiers and police is (sic) no longer our problem.”

Killings and arson have been on the rise in the state in recent times.

No fewer than four local government headquarters in the state and several police stations have been attacked and razed.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo, has announced a N10m reward for anyone or group with valuable information that can lead to the arrest of the killers.

The member representing Soludo’s constituency and his aide were kidnapped on May 15.

However, his head was found on Saturday at Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
