At least, three passengers have lost their lives and others sustained various degrees of injuries in a road accident along Maiduguri-Damaturu highway, Daily Trust Saturday reports.
It was laernt that accident occurred yesterday morning just a few kilometres from Benisheik town in the Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to an eyewitness, the accident involved a Borno Express vehicle with registration number BAM 249 XA which left Maiduguri enroute Kano.
“Two women and one man lost their lives; others got injured. The injured were rushed to a hospital close by in Benisheik”, a witness, Umaru Bukari said.
Efforts to reach Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Commander, Utten Iki Boyi proved abortive as he didn’t pick his calls nor respond to text message sent to him as of time of filing this report.
