A claim that All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu changed his name from Yekini Amoda Ogunlere, to what he currently bears has gone viral on social media.

Yekini Amoda Ogunlere is currently trending on Twitter as Nigerians on the social media platform are causing ruckus about the supposed real name of the former governor of Lagos state.

On Friday, 2 September, 2022, controversial blogger, continued with her revelations about the presidential flag bearer of the ruling party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Gistlover started the narration of the story in one of her posts last week.

Gistlover continued the shocking revelation on Friday.

It reads: “So after getting married to Remi And God blessed them with 3 girls , many do not know they have children together and the rumour been peddled about is that Remi didn’t give birth to any child for Amoda, well it’s the cases of the kids that don’t make them flaunt them kids often , Yorubas will say , Ile ta ba fi to mo, iri ni yi o wo (A house built with saliva instead of blocks , will in no time be brought down by the dewdrops).”

The controversial blogger started further: “Such is the case of Zainab Tinubu a spoilt brat from the womb, it is not just Zainab, check most politicians children, you will understand better.

Zainab started taking drugs at an early age and this damaged her a lot, even after purchasing lot of properties with drugs money for the kids and made them stay all their life in the Uk, they still didn’t make Amoda proud.

“Currently Zainab is in Bronzefield prison in England, it happened that after taking her drugs as usual that day, she went on the street to assault a police officer in the Uk and she was charged.

“The parents tried all they could just to make sure the matter was buried but it didn’t work, it was while in the prison they noticed she had mental disorder and they had to transfer her to the mental home. As it is now, she shuffles both.

Now Amoda needed to re-strategize because the police were already on his trail in the US.

“He needed to find a way to Establish his Drug cartel on Nigeria without having any government issue, so he devised a means to find his way to the top in politics in such a way that even if he kills anybody in Nigeria and they find the gun on him, he won’t be questioned.

That was how he ventured into politics, but he made sure his cartel was running well.

“He needed to hand over and face politics squarely plus he spent a lot of money just to get key post in a short while and of course his target was to recover even more while on seat, this was how he met a young guy on the street of Apapa who was a freight agent.

His name is Okonkwo Emeka…. Rings a bell right ?? EMEKA MONEY. EMONEYYYYY, to be continued…..”

Gistlover’s posts have garnered several reactions from Nigerians on Twitter.

A tweep, @firstladyship said, “Gistlover did not break that News, David Hundeyin did. He was the first to establish the movie, “King of Boys,” is about Amoda Ogunlere, AKA – Bola Tinubu. That movie exposed Amoda’s ties to criminality & cocaine. He is 87 years, & Bola Tinubu is a stolen female name. VOTE WISELY.”

@NphyM said: “Wait! Someone please turn Shola Shobowale’s headgear around to the left I want to check something. Kemi Adetiba is a GOAT! King of boys is the coded diluted story of Amoda Ogunlere.”

Another tweep, @chudemedia wrote: “How old was Amoda Ogunlere when he stole the Identity of Late Miss Bola Tinubu in order to travel with her traveling Documents?

40 marks (show all working).”

“I did a little research about the Bola Tinubu logo (infinite). I think the infinite logo is a mixture of a & o which stands for Amoda Ogunlere or I’m wrong?,” says Otunba Toba.

@General_Oluchi: “E reach E-money gist, Gistlover come dey pinch am. Comrade, drop the gist make everybody rest! Who is Emeka Okonkwo and how is he related to Amoda Ogunlere? Na Wetin we wan hear be that.”

@kadunaresident: “Dear OBIdients

We should NORMALIZE referring to 86 years Tinubu in his original names “AMODA OGUNLERE”

Example:

When Bola Tinubu was Lagos state Governor in 1999, there was no progress – ❌

When Amoda Ogunlere was Lagos state Governor in 1999, there was no progress – ✅”

@Elkrosmediahub: “Funny how no APC or ‘Batified’ have come out to argue or even subtly debunk the Tinubu’s Amoda Ogunlere alleged tag. They haven’t said anything too about his alleged ‘business’ with E-Money.

At least, not on my Timeline.

“Was Amoda Ogunlere an only child tho? Didn’t he have siblings before the entire ‘rebranding’???🤔”

@victorisrael_: “Yesterday his name was Amoda Ogunlere, Today his name is Bola Tinubu, Tomorrow we fit hear say him name na Mia Khalifa. The only consistent thing about this man are his shaky hands and leaking bumbum.”

According to reports, Gistlover isn’t the first to alleged that the politician’s real name isn’t Bola Tinubu.

In June 2022, a Facebook user, Jackson Ude, made a post on a page, Nigeria Cycle, alleging that Tinubu had another name on his primary and secondary school certificates.

The post reads: “Bola Tinubu’s real name is: Yekini Amoda Ogunlere from Iragbiji Osun State. That is what is contained in his primary and secondary school certificates and that’s why he has refused to tender them before INEC.”

On Twitter, a user @Officialmanny4 had also alleged that, “Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s real name as contained in his primary school certificate is ‘Yekini Amoda Ogunlere’ from Iragbiji Osun state.

He changed to Tinubu after being wanted for drugs related crime in the 70s in US. That’s why he didn’t tender them (the certificates) to INEC.”

Recall that three months ago, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), published the personal particulars of 16 presidential candidates and their running mates who will be contesting the 2023 presidential election.

Tinubu did not provide any information on his primary and secondary education neither did he attach certificates for his tertiary education.

Instead, he attached an affidavit to the INEC form where he claimed that his certificates were stolen after he went on exile during the late General Sani Abacha era.

The affidavit reads: “I went on self-exile from October 1994 to October 1998. When I returned, I discovered that all my property, including all the documents relating to my qualifications and my certificates in respect of paragraph three above, were looted by unknown persons.

“My house was a target of series of searches by various security agents from the time the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was forced to adjourn following the military takeover of government of 17th November, 1993.

“I was the chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, banking and finance. I was also a plaintiff in one of the two suits against the interim national government in 1993.

“I went on exile when it became clear to me that my life was in danger,” Tinubu said in his claim.

Nigerians won’t stop reacting to Tinubu’s inability to state the names of schools he attended and produce copies of his certificates.

This claim is believed to have fueled such speculations that he either did not school as presumed or he is hiding some details about himself that could mar his chances in the forthcoming election.

However, Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia, didn’t capture any previous change in Tinubu’s name. Hence, there is no sufficient evidence to support the claim that the APC presidential candidate changed his name in the past.

It is so simple. As an investigative journalist, its time to go on an adventures to get his primary school, pull out the details including passport and post on socials. With that the die is cast.
