WARRI: The National Coordinator of the Buhari Solidarity Movement, BSM, Chief Ovo Ofigo have said he regretted his support for President Muhammadu Buhari during his election in 2015 and till date.

Chief Ofigo said this in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Warri, at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel.

He also said he has not been compensated for all the supports he’s been giving to President Buhari despite spending his hard earned money to support the president.

He called on Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and Bishop Hassan Kukah to join what he termed the third force to rescue Nigeria.

According to the elder statesman, “The dice is cast and history will soon be made General Buhari contested election for President of Nigeria thrice and failed.

“In the 3rd attempt he publicly wept profusely and vowed Never to contest again. I was moved with sympathy for him and decided to come to his rescue.

“Meanwhile, the PDP had meted injustice of magnitude dimension to me whereupon I was unceremoniously removed as National Treasurer of the PDP to pave way for someone who did not contest the party election at the National Convention.

“I decided to move to the APC in November 2014. Buhari who has reneged in his vow has come on board for the presidential contest. I decided to put my weight behind him which culminated in the floating of the Buhari Solidarity Movement where I was the National Coordinator.

“The Buhari Solidarity Movement where I spent all my money worked assiduously to actualize the presidential bid of General Buhari at the 2015 election.

“I did not only support Buhari to actualize his presidential ambition, I went a step further to ensure that as a president Buhari should remain healthy to be able to govern the Country.

“I have the rare grace and power bestowed on me by the Almighty God from childhood through the power of the teeth with which I was born. As Samson in the holy bible has the power of the hair, so Chief Ovo Ofigo has the power of the teeth. Any pronouncement has always been a reality

“The President Buhari has been lucky enough to be part of this rare gift of mine.

“Even though I am not a fan of the PDP, I may extend this rare grace to Governor Nyesom Wike and Bishop Hassan Kukah who I now enjoin to be part of a 3rd Force.”

“I can recall how I was invited by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC to present a position paper on behalf of the Buhari Solidarity Movement to the Presidency on the clashes between the herdsmen and the farmers.

“Over 30 members of the movement drawn from at least 25 States of the federation were in attendance during the presentation which was single handedly funded by me.

“At the presentation, we highlighted the potential danger posed by the farmers/herdsmen imbroglio. The refusal of the Presidency to heed to our proffered solution is what you have of the insurgency today.

“I am no longer in partisan politics; but I call on Bishop Hassan Kukah and Nyesom Wike to salvage Nigeria. Both of them have my blessings for the Presidency.”
