Brighton and Hoves Albion denied Liverpool the chance of running away with the three points as Pascal Gross scored a last gasp goal to share the points at the Amex Stadium.

The threats got Liverpool out of their lacklustre start as Mohamed Salah thought he had put Liverpool in front on 33 minutes but VAR ruled he was offside.

The Reds took over possession and continued to push for the opening goal but both failed to break the deadlock.

Diogo Jota finally broke the deadlock in the 60th minute collecting Salah’s pass to beat three players and find the corner.

Liverpool though they had completed the work in the 85th minute with Sadio Mane header  finding the net but the goal was  overturned by VAR for offside.

Brighton shocked the champions as Gross scored from the spot after Danny Welbeck was adjudged to have been fouled by Andrew Robertson.

With the result Liverpool top the Premier League table with 21 points while Brighton stay 10th with 16 points.
